A high-stakes DSA auction and competitive engineering arena. Acquire premium problem sets through live bidding, forge strategic alliances to share problem arsenals, trade and resell questions on the secondary block, and solve algorithmic challenges on HackerRank.
FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION. CODE FOLLOWS LOGIC.
5 Planted Production Bugs. 5 Automated Tests. Passing only 3 or 4 tests triggers a negative score penalty.
EVENT PHASES.
A high-octane synchronized event combining auction economics, strategic alliances, and algorithmic DSA problem-solving.
The Question Auction
The admin activates a question on the floor. Candidate screens automatically shift to the live bidding floor, displaying Question Name, Difficulty, Topics, Base Price, and competitor credit reserves. Verbal bidding in the room is updated live by the admin, and credits are deducted when knocked down.
Strategic Alliances
Between bidding rounds, squads enter the Alliance Phase. Teams dispatch realtime bilateral alliance requests. If both squads accept, a fixed fee is deducted from both credit balances, immediately unlocking complete mutual visibility into all owned questions.
HackerRank Solving
Squads access the complete problem statement and markdown descriptions for their acquired question inventory. Coding takes place on HackerRank across all standard languages. Teams race to formulate and submit optimal solutions.
Secondary Liquidation
Teams holding difficult or surplus questions can request a resale. The admin reopens the auction floor for that problem. When sold to another team, the original owner receives 80% of the sale points, while a 20% liquidation penalty is applied.
Score Arbitration
Official IEEE MSB judges inspect live HackerRank contest submissions. Admins use a dedicated console to manually award or adjust points in real time, updating the live synchronized leaderboard instantly.
Auto Screen Shift
Candidates experience zero navigation friction. When candidates log in, they see only their team status and credit balance. As soon as the admin triggers any phase change, all connected devices instantly transition to the target arena screen.
TEAM MANDATES.
5 Members
Each participating team must consist of exactly five members. Multi-disciplinary squads with strategic auction bidders and fast algorithmic coders achieve the highest survivability.
Mandatory Female Member
In compliance with IEEE MSB diversity and inclusion standards, every registered team must include at least one girl member to be eligible for selection.
Single Shared Team PIN
Approved teams receive a unique Team ID and 6-digit Login PIN sent via Brevo email on the day of the event. All 5 members log in simultaneously through this shared session.
HackerRank Scoring
Acquired DSA problems are solved on HackerRank in any supported programming language. Official admin evaluators inspect successful test verdicts and adjust live team points in real time.
